Bernt Petersen

 

Bernt Petersen (1937-) is a Danish architect and furniture designer. In 1957 Bernt was trained as a cabinetmaker and in 1960 he graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design, where he later on, from 1978-85, worked as a teacher. 

After he finished his education Bernt Petersen was employed at Mobilia and Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) but in 1963 he established his own firm. Bernt’s work includes especially furniture made of wood, predominantly light wood such as ash and beech, which have been used in different concert halls and theatres in several Danish cities. Bernt is known for his simple designs suited for industrial production.
